Q: Is Safari Badminton the Club for me?

A: Safari Badminton aims to offer coaching and game play to developing players aged 10+. Players will also be introduced to competitive play in a controlled and friendly environment.

Q: Do I need to have my own racket & shuttlecock?

A: No. Rackets & shuttlecocks are provided at each session.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Sportswear is most appropriate. Shorts, t-shirt & trainers. A jumper and tracksuit trousers are optional. Jeans & outdoor shoes are not recommended.

Q: I have never picked up a raccket before, can I come?

A: Beginners are welcome at Safari Badminton. An initial assessment of all new players will be offered. If Safari Badminton is not the most suitable beginning for you advice on alternative pathways can be given.

Q: Can I get advise on/help purchasing my first racket?

A: Advice and purchasing assistance can be offered if you are unsure about the purchase of your first racket. Advice on other equipment purchases is also available.

Q: How much time on court will I get?

A: Each session is delivered in a format considerate to the number of players in attendance. All activities seek to involve all players returning maximum engagement.

1-2-1 and small group sessions are much more bespoke to the players needs, court time in these cases is key to development and sessions seeks to maximise the time on court.

Q: Will I get to play games?

A: Yes. Safari Badminton provides weekly opportunities for players to play games against each other in a healthy, social, competitive environment.

Q: How much coaching will I receive?

A: Safari Badminton aims to deliver coaching opportunities to all players. Coaching drills, practices & tips are offered through key stages of development on both a group and individual basis.

Q: What activities can I expect to be involved in?

Q: Safari Badminton offers a range of Badminton based activities including, single shot learning & development, multi-shot drills, group learning games, singles & doubles games.

Q: I already play for another club, can I come?

A: Yes. Taking advantage of Safari Badminton activities will not prevent you from playing with another club.

Q: What if I sign up then want to quit?

A: If your personal circumstances change once you have signed up, don’t worry. All activities have a Pay As You Go option where no future commitment is required.

Q: Does Safari Badminton have social media?

Q: Are there changing rooms and lockers available?

A: Facilities used by Safari Badminton all have separate changing and showering facilities for both males and females. Facilities sometimes have lockers available, however you are encourage to bring all your belongings into the sports hall with you.

Q: Do you have coaching tips on Youtube?

A: At present no. It is hoped that as Safari Badminton expands and develops coaching tips and advice will be available in video format on Youtube.
