Whether you’re a social player looking to sharpen your Badminton skills or part of a group of competitive players looking for a winning edge; Safari Badminton can offer you a one hour 1-2-1 coaching session to address your personal requirements. Sessions are available on a 1-2-1 or small group (up to 4 players) basis.
Through 1-2-1 or small group coaching players can:
- Learn, develop and refine fundamental shots, technique, and repertoire
- Improve their movement around the court
- Gain confidence in shot selection and appropriate techniques
- Practice multi-shot drills and develop a knowledge of tactics
- Play short games in singles, doubles, and half-court formats with particular goals to progressively integrate learned skills into game-play
- Receive evaluation to identify problem areas and weaknesses in order to set goals for future development
- Receive specific training for doubles pairs to help maximise their effectiveness as a team
- Learn to anticipate, read and react to opponents using increased awareness of game-play
- Learn how to set up a winning scenario within rallies for a winning edge
- Make personalised and time-bound development programmes to last as many weeks or months as they would like in order to meet specific goals
- Get personalised advice on equipment and playing badminton locally
1-2-1 Private Coaching is delivered by one of two Safari Badminton coaches (level 2 qualified by Badminton England). Sessions are available daytime, evening and weekend and can be flexibly delivered to suit players’ needs and availability. Sessions are predominantly delivered at Kimberley School Sports Centre (NG16 2NJ).
Session Fees
£22 per hour for one person. Each additional player thereafter adds £5 per hour up to a maximum of 4 players.

Each session fee includes:
- An hour of coaching time with a Level 2 Badminton England coach
- Use of a racket (if required)
- Shuttles
What’s not included:
- Court hire – groups of up to 4 players are usually coached on one court: you may choose to hire more than one court if you deem it necessary
Session times and locations will be agreed based on player & court availability. Courts will be booked by the hiring player(s), courts will not be booked by Safari Badminton.
Safari Badminton feels it is essential to stress the importance of spending time between each coaching session playing games and evaluating personal performance in order to progressively integrate learned skills into existing skills and game play habits.
